Woven Bell Flower Choker

I love the process of weaving baskets out of wire. It is something I have been messing around with for a while, however the baskets are so large, they take forever to finish. The length of time for making a basket, the cost of purchasing so much wire, and the fact that my real love is jewelry-making pretty much halted that activity. About 2 years ago, I minimized a project by weaving a tea strainer. It turned out great, but it was still time-consuming and took away from my jewelry-making. (Do you sense a trend here?) Last weekend, I had one of those "Ah ha" moments, and that night I finished a pair of delicate little woven earrings. As a first run, they turned out pretty good, so I decided to make a matching pendant. I just finished the pendant design today. I am very excited about it. I created a tiny little woven basket in the shape of a bell flower and attached the pendant to a wire and ribbon choker. I love how it turned out and have already posted it to my etsy storefront

Gabe and Lily were enjoying a peaceful moment watching cousin playing on the X-Box. Notice how close Lily is keeping her green ball?
Uncle Scott bought Lily a squeeky, green, knobby ball, a package of tiny squeeky tennis balls, and a little fuzzy stuffed animal this last Sunday at Pet Smart because of course Lily stole his heart. I was a little worried she would never play with them since her foster mom said she really didn't play with her toys at her house; however no fears. The little green, knobby ball is the toy de la journée. If she hears the little squeek anywhere in the house, she jumps up running for her special toy, and believe me when I tell you she knows which toy was squeeking and only runs like that for the green knobby ball. Uncle Scott done good. Last night, G kept sqeazing Lily's green ball and then throwing it for her when she would come running. She decided she was done, so she ran in there, chased her green ball down, grabbed it and then came and burrowed into her bed with it. After she was all tucked in with her ball, she looked up at me with a look that seemed to say: "My bal...

A work in progress....

Sometimes I have too much "get up and go" in me. Which basically means I have these amazingly AD/HD moments that completely baffle everyone in my life. I am a person who can not create or think when surrounded by chaos. I have to clean my studio area before I can work; have to have all my supplies organized or I can't find anything; easily lose things in piles; and am easily sucked into reorganizing if a system is not working for me and I am feeling overwhelmed by the mess of it. Trying to set up a simple blog has proven to be one of those ongoing AD/HD moments for me. I started out right by setting up my original blog using my jelainedesigns igoogle account, however when google bought blogger, I somehow messed up the log-in/account switch-over process and assigned the blog to my personal igoogle account instead of my jelainedesigns one. Blogger would not allow me to transfer them to a different email/igoogle account, and I couldn't just shut them down and reopen...
